Q:
What is the difference between PC (polycarbonate) and PSF (polysulfone)? What is the cost difference?
ANS:

Polysulfone (PSF) is an amber semi-transparent, heat-resistant, high performance engineering thermoplastic. It  offersexcellent mechanical, electrical and improved chemical resistance properties relative to polycarbonate (PC).

Polysulfone'sproperties remain relatively consistent over a broad temperature range; it is hydrolysis resistant for  continuous use in hotwater and steam at temperatures up to 300°F.

Polysulfone often replaces polycarbonate when higher temperatures, improved chemical resistance or  autoclavability is required. Polysulfone can be autoclavable upto 136℃.

Averagely polysulfone price is around 8 times higher than polycarbonate.

Q:
What is DEHP? What is the influence when exposed to DEHP?
ANS:

DEHP di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate is a phthalate ester widely used as a plasticizer to make polyvinyl chloride  (PVC or vinyl) medical products soft and flexible. PVC is used in a range of medical devices from intravenous  (IV) fluidcontainers and blood bags to medical tubing.

It is strongly recommended by authorities that devices containing DEHP not be used in the treatment of  newborns, infants and young children, patients undergoing bypass or heart transplantation, and others ~ because the amount ofexposure can be substantial and because those exposed may be particularly vulnerable to the effect of toxic chemicals.

PVC medical devices, such as IV bags and blood bags, typically contain 30-40% DEHP by weight; other devices, such as medical tubing, may contain as much as 80% DEHP by weight.

Note: Headstar thinks highly of good business ethics and does not use materials that contain DEHP for our PVC  products; even though cost of materialswithout DEHP is higher.
Note: Plasticizer is generally clear, organic, liquid material that is added to PVC formulation to obtain a flexible film to enhance both processability and serviceability of the end product.

Q:
What is warranty period and best storage condition of Headstarproducts?
ANS:
We provide one year warranty and it is recommended to store Headstar products away from sunlight, ozone and extreme heat and cold.
Q:
How many times can a reusable product be re-used?
ANS:

When we manufacture a reusable Headstar product, we use materials such as silicone rubber and polysulfone which offersuperior reliability, excellent service life and best long term resistance to environmental extremes.

It is recommended that customers conduct post-sterilization functional and/or visual tests before each operation.

When adefect or should there be any functional failure, discard the product right away.

Q:
Maintenance And Storage
ANS:
A routine check including visual inspection and functional testing should be carried out. A log recording the  maintenance record should be kept, as well as affixing a label to the equipment indicating check date and next duedate. After use, the device should be disassembled for cleaning & disinfection. When dry, re-assemble and conduct visual & functional checks. Update the maintenance log. To prolong the device life, it is advisable to store it away from sunlight, ozone, and extremesof heat and cold.
